Thoughtful Thursday
July 30, 2009
Hi again, I’m back with a few words and a thought. Today was not a bad day, there was some rain in downtown, it lasted about an hour or so and it was so nice actually cooled the place off some. It would be so nice to get some more but just have to wait and see. I have been in thought a lot lately and confused even more. Most of the confusion is about the way life is leading me right now, trying to come up with a way to let the things I cant change just slide on by and focus on the things that I can do something about. It has been hard for me to get it right, but working on it! As I was leaving today for the job I picked up my mail from the box and was very happy to see a letter from my cousins back in upstate New York. It has been many years since I have seen them but I do speak with them from time to time, not as often as I should but I still keep in touch. Inside of the very nice card was a memory card from the funeral service for their mom, my aunt and I would like to share the words on the card with you.
When I am gone, release me, let me go. I have so many things to see and do, you musn’t tie yourself to me with tears. Be thankful for the beautiful years.
I gave to you my love. You can only guess how much you gave to me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown, but now it’s time I traveled on alone.
So grieve awhile for me, if grieve you must, then let your grief be comforted by trust, it’s only for a time that we must part, so bless the memories within your heart.
I won’t be far away for life goes on, though you can’t see or touch me. I’ll be near. All my love around you soft and clear.
And then when you must come this way alone, I’ll great you with a smile, and say “Welcome Home.”
As I read these words before I left for work today I started to cry, but then I thought this is right for at first we grieve for the loss of a love one, but then I must rejoice for them and the times we have spent together. I know in time I will cry some more and I will feel lonely, but just as quickly I will smile and know that one day I will join all those I love and we shall sit down and talk and smile and remember.
I miss all those who have passed on and touched my heart in such a special way and pray for the day we are reunited and can talk and smile.
Well my friends and family I just want to share that with you today. As is always my way I share a photo or two. Again nothing special just some moment frozen in time. May your Friday be a good one and may the week that comes to a close have treated you well. Until the next entry please smile and have a good day. Keep that cool breeze to your back. Love, Pete

Hi everyone, hope you are doing well this week so far? As is the norm around here it has been hot, at some point or another it will break. The first couple of days this week have been alright, no big happenings in town to speak of and nothing too big around the house. The fur people seem to find new ways to make me smile, it’s like they want to see if they can top the last feat with something better. I am grateful for this because without them doing crazy stuff I would be way to serious and blow a main seal in the head or heart. Well enough of that dribble, time to share a couple of images from the hard drive. As always hope that you are doing well and keeping cool. Until we meet again on this road take care. Pete

Just looking up and came up with this.

Waiting to work.
Monday Morning
July 27, 2009
Hi There, it’s Monday morning and it’s time to get my act together and start another week on the streets of downtown. The weekend went by decent, although I did not take a chance and go out very far from the house, I should have and visited with some friends at the lake. Maybe the next time (hope there is), just plain old lazy on my part for most of the weekend. Other than taking part in paying respects to Lance Cpl Lara (see previous entry) I did very little. I am pleased about something, over the past few weeks life has brought back family to my life. The loss of my Aunt Lucy has found many long silent family members, uncles, cousins, aunts out of the silence. I am not without blame and may be the most to blame for long silence. Hence one of the reasons for this blog, to keep a voice going and to share photography with all. I am happy to know that we can still communicate in our family and I will try my best to keep it alive. Well on to a photo or two, as this was reason for this blog. Nothing special, just sharing from my hard drive, hope you like them, but most of all I hope that you week ahead is good, with a cool breeze at your back and a friend to back you up. Pete

Friday Final
July 25, 2009
Hello to all, Friday has finally made it and been past by the time you read this. The weekend is now in full swing with may things to do, mainly pick up around the house and get the fur people some food and supplies. The day at work was busy again going from one side of town to the other. Assisted a fellow worker with an accident which occurred on the interstate, no one injured just damage to the car and the bus. But the scary thing was how many people drive in a fog, just moving around in a vehicle that weighs 2 3 thousand pounds up to 75,000 lbs or more and have no idea of what they are doing. I saw so many people that just have very little clue to what they are doing with their vehicle. I guess it scares me for it only takes one second or less to change ones life. Well enough of that, the most important thing is no one was hurt! Only photos I got on Friday was from the accident and it would not be the right thing to post those. So again I am looking thru my selection of photos so that I can share some with you today. I am glad the work week is over right now, again it has been hot and it drains me. All I hope for is that some rain falls soon and the breeze keeps blowing. Well my friends I I shall close for now and I offer for your viewing a few from the hard drive, hope you like them untill next time, stay cool and keep a smile in your heart.

Hey There, Hope all is going well with everyone? Another hot one in the ole town today! Not much to tell about today other than another day moving people and keeping people safe. Moving all around the city today on the job. No photo ops today, just too busy getting things done and doing the right thing. But as I always find a photo to include in each entry for you to check out. Hope you enjoy the photo and may your Friday be a quick one and one with a cool breeze in your back. Take care and have a great day! Pete

Howdy, just a few words before I head back to the oven. It has been at or over 100 degrees now for more than 3 weeks. At some point or another the people of South Texas will be ready to serve up, for we have been cooking for a long time. Well enough of that and on to a couple of photos, these are from my vault nothing special in my mind but I wish to share with you. Take care and stay cool. Pete

What you doing?

Tuesday in Transit
July 21, 2009
Hello once more. I hope that you are doing well today and that your day was without major trouble or problems! Went back to work today after taking a day off yesterday, was having a hard time getting air, like asthma or something (allergy), did well but would not want to run a 10k or even a block right now. This entries title is a little tricky, so I shall try and explain some what. As most of you know I work in the transit system here in town, this something I have been doing for a long time and have intrest in it for even longer. I enjoy doing what I do a lot but there are days when I wonder why I and so many others put forth such a good effort for some who seem to think they are entitled to all there is and more. Simply stated I wonder why some folks think they are the only one on this earth! At times I find that your best efforts to assist and make a difference to others goes un-noticed, I am not looking for a medal or keys to the city, I have enough keys to keep track of now. Just wonder what is going on that no matter the best intent some don’t see the good intent being sent their way. I guess I am just venting at the moment and have let off enough steam so I won’t beat up on one of the fur people. The heat is getting to me and almost all of South Texas right now, with a little bit of luck we will get a cool front the first of October and summer will have been entered into the history books. Well this is about photographs and life so I will try and match todays photo with the title, lets see how I do? Most of all I hoep that your day has been good and that tomorrow will be better! Take care for now! Pete

From yesteryear, these were the way you got around the town.

These are what we use today, funny thing they do the same thing, get people were they need to go!

Hello all, I have made it back to share some thoughts with you. I have sat at the house all day, this morning I was getting myself ready for work and found was having a difficult time catching air, a small asthma setback struck this morning. After a few treatments I am breathing freely at the present and hope it stays this way for another long while. I was not wanting to start the week off with this on my chest, but things happen for a reason, I guess in time I will find out what the reason is? Enough of that right now. I have been thinking of photographs and the types of shots I would like to take. I attempted last night to do some self portraits just for fun and have to work on it some more. Have some ideas, but could use some others. So a call comes out, if you have any ideas please pass them along and I check it out. Well onto photography, today I share with you one of the photos from my messing around last night and a couple of randoms ones from the hard drive. Hope your day is good and without too many troubles. Pete

A New Week Ahead
July 19, 2009
Hello, I am back from my own lazy silence. Just did have the get up and go and was way too lazy to make myself do anything outside of work. Enough of the excuses, that’s right! Well hope that the weekend has been good to you, it has been fair with me. Saturday I woke early and took the camera out for a spin and made a trip to the zoo. It was fun, and although I did not come away with anything that the National Geographic would want I am pleased with the results. Most of all I found that I had a blast watching and listening to the kids while they checked out the animals. The looks of awe and wonder in their eyes. The wonderful comments that they make about what they see, smell and hear. It was so nice and refreshing and funny, just made me smile from ear to ear, although at times the smile was way done deep in my heart. I would have loved to capture some of those looks of wonder, but did not point the camera at any child for fear of being labeled a freak or something worse. But if I could have gotten permission I sure would have, those moments can not be staged and they must be captured and frozen the moment it happens. I think and feel that is what photography is about! Freezing, preserving a moment in time, it will not happen again, you can re-stage it but the original moment is history. If I or you are quick and lucky enough we preservethat moment with a camera, that is what I love to do. Also I was invited to BBQ across the creek with dear friends and had a wonderful time, the food was great!! Best damm meal I have had all week, too bad I was unable to get a doggy bag it sure would be nice to have some on day two. But what I had was awesome and thank my friends for letting me share the good food and time with them.
Well I have mumbled enough and want to share some of the photos I got from the zoo. As always I hope that your week is good to you and yours, that a cool breeze be at your back and a warm thought always be in your heart. Make moment in life, maybe I’ll be there to preserve it. Pete

I got you in my sights fella!
